2020 Newsletter

What a Year…

Well, what can we say about 2020 so far… It has given us a pandemic, a lockdown, the Furlough scheme, a rise in shares for Zoom and Microsoft, the best weather we have seen in a while, brought back UK holidays, facemasks and not to forget homeschooling and an ever greater appreciation for our health workers!

With all that to reflect on what has the past 9 months been like for the Ash team?

The year started positively with a strong pipeline of both new and existing clients and our Contracts Director, Peter Seex was promoted to Joint Managing Director.

Croydon High School was a great win at the end of 2019 with an onsite start in early 2020. Here is a review of a few of the other projects we managed to secure in the year;

All of this delivered in an impressive 9-weeks

We’ve been busy at Sutton High School delivering 3 refurbishment projects; the nursery, the staff room and the upstairs classrooms. Finally, the staff room was refitted with a new kitchen and interior lighting to provide an enhanced workspace.

We also delivered works in the dining room; the exterior french doors and sash windows were taken out and replaced with new composite doors. We also relocated the plumbing and electrical services in the communal areas and decorated throughout.

Phase 1 of the initial summer works involved completion of the enabling works, which will now allow us to start phase 2 of a new 2 storey extension together with a linking corridor.

So there you have it, a small summary of the projects that the team have been working on in 2020.

It has been a turbulent year for many and the Ash team are grateful to our clients and consultants for enabling us to continue to be busy. We are also extremely thankful for our workforce who have managed to work safely and effectively following our new COVID-secure procedures.
